As of 2015 our capabilities were limited to machines of 375 tons of clamping capacity up to machines of 725 tons of clamping capacity. Today we range from 375 tons up to 6,750 tons. The newest addition to our high pressure fleet is a machine that has 6,750 tons of clamping capacity and two injection units. Our product development team brings expertise in manufacturing, which integrates the design, engineering, and quality control disciplines for superior part performance and cost effectiveness. In the structural foam process, a physical or chemical blowing agent is mixed in with the resin. The resin is shot into the cavity, but not completely filled or packed out. The blowing agent expands to push the resin to the extremities of the cavities. During college he worked as a CAD operator in the engineering department at Hartford Concrete Products where he honed his skills drafting and detailing above- and below-grade pre-cast concrete structures, molds and tooling to cast the structures, as well as electrical, HVAC and other components to outfit the structures for the burgeoning telecommunications industry. Upon graduation he decided it was time to put his degree to work in the field of plastics manufacturing, and accepted a position as a CAD designer with Fort Wayne Plastics. Mike continued in the plastics industry over the next decade working for two other manufacturing companies and holding numerous positions including engineer, quality control manager, plant manager, director of sales and director of operations. Having entered Ball State as a “wanna-be architect”, and being a woodworking enthusiast and recreational remodeler, Mike was eager to pursue his dream of being a business owner and construction seemed the natural fit. In late 2003 an opportunity to become co-owner of a successful custom home builder presented itself, and in 2009 Mike became the sole owner of Mike Gepfert Homes. After 16 years in the construction industry Mike found himself missing manufacturing. He reached out to his friend and mentor Ron Ernsberger and accepted the opportunity to join 20/20 in September, 2019. Mike filled the position of Plant Manager for the Holiday City high pressure plant. In 2021, Mike was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In 2024, Mike moved into his current role of Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for manufacturing and engineering at 20/20. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with family and friends at Lake George, boating, skiing and relaxing. He also enjoys watching various sporting events. Combined, these facilities employ more than 500 people. 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics state-of-the-art facilities use the low-pressure injection molding process, to produce products such as pallets, carts, in-ground enclosures, pool panels, floating dock systems, burial vaults, and window wells for companies in the logistics, home and garden, consumer products, construction and leisure industries. We are excited to announce we are expanding operations to the current Vantage Products building located at 960 Almon Road, Covington, Georgia. With plans to invest $7,000,000 at this location with the creation of 100 new jobs within the next two years. The operational start-up is planned for April 25, 2022. This will include two 2500-ton presses and a 300-ton press. [Back to Press Releases](https://www.2020cmp.com/about-us/press/) ## News # 20/20’s EXPANSION BRINGS MORE JOBS, CAPACITY TO HOLIDAY CITY AND BLUFFTON **HOLIDAY CITY, OH**– April 8, 2021 – 20/20 Custom Molding Plastics’ latest expansion, beginning in April, will bring more than 100 new jobs to its two locations thanks to various machine additions and the relocation of several high pressure presses. The manufacturing firm will proceed with adding two 3,000-ton high pressure machines and one 8,000-ton high pressure machine to its 225,000-sqaure-foot Holiday City plant this year and into 2022. The 375- and 500- ton high pressure presses in Holiday City will be relocated to the Bluffton, Indiana 325,000-square-foot facility. In addition, the Bluffton location will receive three new structural foam presses over the next 18 months. **President of 20/20, Ron Ernsberger** noted that the company’s ability to continuously grow is rooted in its goals to exceed customer expectations. “As a custom molder, we must constantly push the envelope to find ways to do things better, faster, and more economically. Delivering quality parts on time every time is key,” Ernsberger said. “Growing the business is one thing, but doing so while expanding our capacities and capabilities is another. Whenever we add equipment, we also want to the ability to deliver our best and keep in line with the highest of industry standards.” **Chief Financial Officer Dave Rupp** shares that 20/20’s growth has supported the company’s dedicated customer base while welcoming new ones. The increased production capacity is also a step toward bringing more manufacturing professionals to the Ohio and Indiana locations. “Over the years, 20/20 has become the go-to custom molder of large parts in North America. Our product development team brings expertise in manufacturing, which integrates the design, engineering, and quality control disciplines for superior part performance and cost effectiveness. Our strength is in developing new applications in structural foam for cost savings. We have developed an extensive list of new products in structural foam with our years of experience and our in-house engineering expertise and CAD software. These structural foam products save costs because of lower resin use than other molding processes, up to 15% part weight reduction, less expensive aluminum tooling, and a high level of manufacturing consistency. Once the specifications are set, the part can be molded accurately the next day or the next year. Our nozzle controls and sequences guarantee consistency from part to part and run to run.
